Another crab

Post by GavinG »

I can't let shibui and Watto go unanswered.

Old tattered crab apple, grown from cutting before I found out they were difficult. Ground-grown, nasty die-back down the trunk due to root hacks - it powers along regardless.

Oh, and Rory, it's a special Australian Native crab-apple. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, and the stand is something special.
Do you think the flowers are earlier than usual this year Gavin?

Gotta love that Gavin and I am with Watto... well done for taking the time to select a wonderful stand to show off the tree.

Seriously though - what a little beauty.

Hi Gavin
I too would like to see this tree without leaves please.
If possible any pics of its earlier development would be appreciated .
Well done.

I love growing things before I find out they're difficult. :D

Lots of character in that trunk, by the looks! Gorgeous flowers too. Hopefully one day my crabapple will flower!

Good old stump by the look of it. Some carvings would take it to the next level.. well done.

I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

I'm not sure the world is ready to see this thing without leaves, but if I remember...
