Just lots of water, heavy fertilization and full sun really. Nothing special really. I also trimmed back in summer, then let it run again. Now that it’s lost it’s leaves I chopped back some of the super long branches to what you see, anticipating die back and rotting of the wood.

I’m new at this too. Maybe someone else with experience might have better suggestions.

Cheers,
H

Thanks Harshadg, hopefully mine runs riot in spring, have been generally lax on the fertilizing side of things...

Just posting an update on this one. I decided to repot it today since it grew so vigorously last year and didn’t put out any flower buds this year. I suspect it needs to be more rootbound. Nevertheless, the rootless stump put out roots EVERYWHERE and some of it had decayed. Water percolation was quite poor in the potting mix. All in all I think repotting was not a bad idea.

It’s just breaking into leaf and I left a fair bit of roots. Changed the angle too. Unfortunately lockdown means that I didn’t have nearly enough potting mix and had to improvise on the potting mix.

Wow that’s a lot of root mass in a year’s time. Keen to see how this develops. Keep us posted.

Unfortunately, I'll be looking to move this one (and other trees in training) due to an impending overseas move at the end of spring/beginning of summer. Please DM me if there is interest.

Cheers,
Harshad
