Re: Crepe myrtle
Nice looking trunk. Crepe bark is stunning. that you get lots of shoots to work with.

Re: Crepe myrtle
Wow, beautiful autumn colour. We could never have that colour here in QLD as it is not cold enough in winter
Always we hope someone else has the answer.

That looks really nice and all that in less than a year. NeilC, are you able to share your process esp. the type of mix you used and the level to which you cut the roots as I have three CMs I am planning to dig up but they are all tall and lankiy so wanted some guidance.

Re: Crepe myrtle
Hi Guys, sorry I have not be on for a few weeks…. I am no expert!
But I just cut the top back to app 1metre, got out a decent rootball.
Then sat it on the bench cut off all the big roots and left all the fine roots.
I had some very open soil mix from chojo in Sassafras.
Potted up crossed my fingers, it was exciting when the shoots came
I have fertilised all through summer, spring and autumn.
I am so looking forward to working on it this winter, more root work and pruning.
Good luck…they are pretty hardy in Melb so you should be fine
