First styling of Yamadori plum

Post by Watto »

This was dug in 2019 and has grown very well since then. It was allowed to grow "wild" for a year and now it was time to set a little direction for the first time. If you look closely you can see that it was "carefully" trimmed with a chainsaw at collection time and will need to be carved at some time in the future. The wiring is a bit rough but will have to do for now. Some work to reduce the size all around and later make some decisions on the top - not sure about that area yet. Some spray to keep the bugs off and some fertilizer to give it some strength and hopefully it will be OK by Autumn.
