Did anyone ever wired the adventitious shoots?

What's your definition of adventitious shoot? Pictures say far more than a few words.

I sometimes wire and bend young shoots but need to watch them carefully. Wire can cut into them in just a few weeks. On the + side really young shoots can be set in shape as quick as a couple of weeks.
Also beware that young shoots growing from older wood is not well attached to the trunk. I've had quite a few just pop off with very little pressure.
