Optimum Fertiliser for Wisteria?

Post by DEVPB »

Evening all,

As the title suggests, I'm looking for people's experiences when it comes to fertilising Wisterias.
As the Autumn season rolls in strong and fast (especially here in BNE) I'm looking to pump up the reserves in my Wisterias for the upcoming spring season. However, I don't want to disturb the potential for an excellent show of flowers by pumping it full of nitrogen as a nitrogen deficient Wisteria is one of the best ways to have a massive show of flowers. What do people recommend?

Thanks in advance.

I use any 'fruit and flowers' fertiliser on all flowering plants from end of summer through to leaf drop. It does not appear to matter if the fert is aimed at a specific plant group eg citrus, tomato, rose, azalea, or just generic flower and fruit. They all have similar nutrient ratios and your wisteria will take what it needs.
