Crab Apple

Post by Hanro »

This crab apple was a gift from a club member ( Lisa K ). It was at the time grafted to a very ugly root stock and she was not up to the layering journey.
3 seasons ago I started a layer at the point of where the single trunk split into 3 trunks. I left the layer for 2 years and early last season I removed the grafted trunk and planted it into a 300mm orchid pot.
This year I re-potted into this Bonsai pot although this will need to be review as a glazed pot would suit the tree better as it develops.

Looks great and has a decent girth to the trunk.

I finally bought one of these a few months ago. Just waiting for it to flower now...
