Fig pot choices

Post by dansai »

Hi all,

was wondering about your thoughts on the choice of pot for this fig. My Aussie pots don't suit, and I only have real crappy mass produced pots or these 2.

I like the colour of the unglazed one. I like the shape too but thought it might be too soft for the tree.

I like the strong lines of the blue one, but am a little over blue

The second pot appears to be a better size and shape for the tree :imo: . The first pot seems too deep and too large.

Thanks for the comment. I think Bothe pots are actually smaller than what they appear in the photos. My bad editing skills

I'll try again.

I prefer the unglazed one over the glazed one, but that said I am a advocate of Aussie tree Aussie pot.

I know it is not known as a flowering tree but I think the fig would look good in the blue pot. I am not too fixated with unglazed for non-flowering.

I like the stronger lines of the blue pot and think it is a better match for the tree.

I think once it leafs out, the foliage mass will balance the blue pot well. The other pot is very interesting with the tree, but I'm not sure that it isn't a bit small. It's always hard to tell from a distance.

Good luck. I will often only make up my mind when I can actually sit the tree in the pot...

Thanks everyone. And just to confuse things a little, I actually found a possible Aussie pot that's the right size.

I think the Aussie is best. :aussie: Since there's quite a bit of interesting trunk+base I think the pot texture complements that well. There's also a hint of blue in there to pick up a nice contrast when in leaf.

I think the blue glazed is a bit too smooth to match the trunk, but the shape fits.

The unglazed kind of disappears for me - in a bad way.

Just my :2c:

Nice tree nonetheless! :tu2:

I like the blue best - bright and vibrant.
