Time to show off your figs (ficus)

This is my banyan ficus.
It needs to be re-potted, wired and trimmed

Another one that I've been workin on for a little while now. Once again in need of work and will update when I get to it. Not sure what should be the front really. The scar gives it and old spooky feeling, and also shows that this quite an old tree. What would everyone elses preferred front be?

Pic # 1 as tha front but I woud shorten the top section of trunk a little and possibly remove that middle root.

Crosses in front of the trunk and is distracting to me

Green island fig I have been working on for a little over a year that I just gave a good trim. Will post some pics of when I first got it and make this into a progression. Really happy with how it is starting to look.

As of March all but the apex (see arrow) was doing well. Not much change since

To deal with an ugly "hammer head" at the top I removed material at the top, cutting a v-shape into the top of the trunk. Then forced either side together and let grow - hopefully it will have fused

This is a tigerbark (I think). I salvaged the stump from a landscape. It's been in training for around 4 years.

PJ Fig group planting. I believe the are all approx 20 years old.

They are just being left to grow for a little while.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the one on the left might be a little ruby, the leaves are different to the others.

Nice Fig with good age mate. I would agree with cutting it back to make the nice trunk base more powerful by increasing the proportion. You will find it will give you more foliage easier to fill out more.

Good start to a thread Boics. It would be good to see a lot of Figs in one place.
Never had all mine in one place that I can remember, so here's some of mine. I think all of them have been on AB at some stage anyway.
I love figs and have been growing them for 28 years.

I felt like mixing things up a bit with the group planting how it was, Hugh Grant popped around to show me what to do and how to do it. The photo below shows the new arrangement. Hopefully within the next few years the trunks will fuse and give me a nice solid base. The tree on the left in the original planting will make a nice tree on its own.
