Ficus work

Post by Ako »

Hi there I was just wondering if it's ok to deleaf and repot my fig at the same time or should I do one and wait a year and do the other??

Any advice would be appreciated
Thank you

Ficus are really tough plants so there's no problem with repot, prune and/or defoliation in one operation assuming it is reasonably healthy. Summer is a great time to do any of those on ficus sp.

Agree with Shibui. Both at same time fine. I will often do a hard prune at repot time, also pruning the roots at the same time, and they just explode with growth. I usually would do that work fro late October through to December in my climate. This year I was busy with other work so I'll be doing all my fig repots in the next few weeks.
