[SOLVED] Ficus. ?

Post by Andrew F »

Took these cuttings from a tree that was being lopped by council, pretty sure its a Moreton bay Fig: Ficus macrophylla.

Second opinions never hurt.

Found this weird sorta Neagari style cutting in the fork of the tree.

Coming from the guy that can lop an olive at ground level with a chainsaw lol

Yer mate, iv had about 95% luck striking Macropylla from hardwood cuttings, normally mid-spring - mid-summer.

This time iv left more leaves on and i placed the seedling trays ontop of the hot water system, hopefully they get enough roots to last over winter. :fc: :fc: :fc:

Let me know if you want a few sent down.

The leaf size are a bit hard to reduce and a bit hard to get to back bud on old wood. my suggestion is to keep all branching until you are ready to style. I have explained reducing leaf size and creating ramification before.
