[SOLVED] New to bonsai - tree identification

Post by EmJ »

Morning all!

Firstly, I'd like to say I am very impressed with this forum - 'tis going to be invaluable as I dont see myself being able to get around to local clubs very often! I am very new to bonsai as a hobby, having been interested in it for years. Knowing this my wonderful girlfriend bought me one for a housewarming present! Alas she didn't quite find out which species it is (i believe it is 10y.o).. I have attached a few pics, if anyone could identify it I could then find out any specific care instructions for the species!! Many thanks

MJ

It looks like one of the Ash's. But not sure which one.

Welcome to the site, you'll love it!

I have no idea either (new to the game), but it looks similar to my ash, only with bigger compound leaves... someone here will give you a definitive answer.

Thanks all! Desert ash, I was thinking it was an ash but any images I found on the web i could'nt match to the leaves - most were excelsior species though.
