Hey was wondering if anyone could ID this stump i dug from a garden bed, it has been cut back numerous times and always comes back with a vengeance, i was thinking prunus family because it has some long gnarly thorns but really not sure

looks like some sort of plum to me too but without flowers and fruit it will be pretty hard to ID further.

I agree with Shibui but more importantly - welcome to the plum club!

Thanks guys, I have seen this grow wild a couple times and can't recall it flowering, just lots of green foliage and thorns, although it was hacked back regularly so I guess wouldn't produce flowers on new growth?
