Re: clerodendron?
looks like a clero to me mate.
you didnt happen to buy this off ebay did you ?? julwiki the seller?
jamie
edit- just realised that you asked if it was a native, if it is inerme then yes, it is native but not endemic which means it is also native to other places.

Re: clerodendron?
That looks like a clero to me as well , Jamie and I both have them as our avatars. I think you have many options for styling this tree , if it where mine I would cut it back to one trunk line and style from there. It looks as though you have a nice bit of movement in the trunk which I would try to retain. I would also consider developing taper, with the cut back, I can see about 4-5 branches I would select to give this taper. I also think you have the opportunity to create a great semi cascade by tipping the tree to the left. Here are some pics showing a clero I am working on at the moment , I tipped this one over to turn it into a semi cascade. I don`t`think you would remove as many branches if you went the semi cascade , hope this helps. CHEERS ROD....

Re: clerodendron?
i dont think the tree is going to let you take it slow mate, these things grow like rockets taking off!!!lowlegs wrote:sure is jamie got a sticky off the same chik. i going to take my time on styling this one i need to refine my stylin techniques thanks for your input cheers
Rod is right about the styling about going back to one trunk line, it may seem drastic but at the speed they grow its unbeleivable, check out my triple trunk clerodendrum thread. from bare trunk to a structure in a month.
i hope you got her down a little on price, i was trying to get a litle ruby ficus rubiginosa off her and she wouldnt budge.
