Hi all,
I bought this as a chopped trunk a few months ago, from one of our local members who owned a bonsai nursery. This particular tree had a 'little' bit of rot setting in at the top of the trunk where the 'chop' had taken place.
I decided to chip away at the rotten part and found out that pretty much half of the face of the trunk was rotten and removed it all. Furthermore, a rather large section of the middle had started to rot away, where what looked to be two large branches were also given the chop.
The result is my first attempt at some carving, what a lot of fun that is. Cant wait to get my own tools. Anyone say birthday and christmas presents!!
Thanks for taking a look
Dave
