I asked a question very early in the piece even showed the tree before and after the Chop, before the Chop it had wire on it after the Chop none and none since.

It was deemed unacceptable. So it appears that previous wire regardless is not acceptable, even after the trunk chop showed none of the original trunk.

As for progression there are quite a few of mine already here so I have done my bit.
I Just wondered about the rules. As has been pointed out by you and others I should not Question just accept blindly.

Pup
Pedantic would do, but punctilious was the one I was actually looking for. ;) You are right, you did ask the question,as did someone else, and the answer was no. Was it the wrong answer? Maybe. Should you question the decision? Sure, why not. Should you labour the point? Probably not. Should you move on, or take it up via PM with the mod concerned? Probably. Anyway, you are correct about one thing, and that is your contribution here. Its great and highly valued by all of us. :worship: It is after all from people like you that us beginners all learn, and that's a valuable contribution in anyone's book! :reading:

Anyway, now that the compo has started, let's all forget the rubust debate and enjoy the process. Hell, if you think you all have problems, I'm not even allowed to win!!!!!!! :palm: Probably will not change the outcome of the compo though!!! Good luck everyone and may the journey be full of learning and fun!

BUGGER!!!! :x If only I had read this thread a month ago, I would have entered for sure! I have a number of trees that would be suitable including Japanese maple, Liquid Ambar, and corkscrew/tortured willow. Oh well, there is always next year, and by then I'll hopefully have a better understanding of the art of bonsai. :fc:

Luke, there is no reason why you can't do one, you just won't be eligible to have a winning place is all.

G'day contestants,

Just a reminder that a condition of the AusBonsai Shohin Progressive Styling Competition 2011 is to submit progression pictures and text at a minimum of every 3 months.
Steven wrote:TIME-FRAME AND COMMITMENTS
• You must make a minimum 3 monthly progression update including photos, an overview of work completed and experiences. Monthly updates would be preferable.
It has now been 2 months since we started and only 12 months until we finish. There are lots of entrants who have not yet posted an update and you must do so within the next 4 weeks to remain in the competition.

Vic Harris has recently added some new hand made pots to his site that are available for purchase. You can see them here https://www.erinpottery.com

Regards,
Steven

Only 2 days to go to get your 'minimum 3 monthly update' done. If you don't submit an update per the rules, you may be excluded from the voting :o  :(

Last day to submit your 3 monthly update is today. If you don't want to miss out on the chance to win a hand made Erin Pot then you'd better get your updates in.

Steven
