[ANBITA] Callistimon viminales? #1- 11 months

Post by kcpoole »

Height 320mm, Width 200mm
purchased from Riverview Nursery late 2010. As the tree was very tall and lanky, the top was layered off September 2011.
This is the lower section and was bent by drilling the trunk and clamping to a steel tube with a Cork as a pivot point.

Ken I like the contraption U used for bending it...and how You bent it. Thanks I shall do the same.
I ask lots of questions that sound like suggestions. Please remember I am a inquisitive newbie trying to figure out why You made a particular decision, in order to learn.

Well the tree has progressed slowly.
It go attacked by scale this year and has been sprayed with Confidor so hope all gone now.

the holes did not roll over yet, so cut a small section of eucalyptus twig and jammed it into the holes then cut it off. they look much less intrusive now and time wil age them hopefully :fc:

In many years to come, this will look beautiful. Once that leader thickens and grows like crazy, it should hopefully give better taper.

I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.
