I thought this tree was gone to the big bonsai pot( Green waste bin ) in the sky, but it is still alive and just started to show signs of regrowth after its transplant from garden to pot.

Hopefully it will power away now it has started to warm up. Some branches are yet to show signs of growth, so just have to wait and see.

Just and update on the styling of this tree. When it was cut back I couldn't find a suitable front with all the thick branching so, out came the dremel and the trunk was carved. The tree responded with new shoots, but the growth rate has been so,so. The root ball at this stage is untouched and will remain so until the desired growth has been achieved.

Just one quick photo to update. It's been raining for three days and I'm off on holidays, Canberra and the north west Victoria. The tree is growing strong and I'm just pinching tips and trying to get a little shape in branches. I won't see this tree for nearly a month, so I hope the growth explodes while I'm away.

The tree is looking great. I have an acmena stump as well as a syzygium paniculatum about the same size, you have given me some great ideas for my own trees. Look forward to seeing some progress pics down the track.

If it were not for my trees, maybe I could see the forest.

Thanks Steve. It will be hard to get a good result in the time allotted, but it is great fun trying. Its so hard to shape and wire such tender shoots.
They easily break, :o , and I'm really just a long time novice :reading: .
So, lots of feed (handfuls of dynamic lifter), regular water, pinch and more feed, more pinch and so it goes.
Unfortunately when it comes time for a Bonsai pot, I will be limited to what I have on hand.
There is little to none available in the Newcastle area. Maybe I will have to get Penny to make a special one for it :fc: .

Next update after the holiday.

B
thanks for the update. The tree is coming on well. I like the tilting, as it seems to put one branch into the line of the trunk and the other to becoming the first branch. Lovely nether regions too.

Thanks for the encouragement and pot identification Marcela, Roger and Trent. I hope the reddish earthy tones in the pot will compliment the new growth on the tree.
