My third and final entry Decided to go with this variation of the Sawara False Cypress. NEVER worked with this species, so should be interesting.
Current height: 320mm
Cost - $12.00

I'm kinda excited about this one. It has some great character and interesting foliage!! See how it goes

Yes, nice shrub. Watch how you prune, though, it doesn't backbud on old wood.
Best wishes, have fun.

Re: [NathanM] Chaemaecyparis pisifera boulevard
Did a little work on this tonight. Nothing too drastic. Some very light pruning and a bit of bending. The main trunk now has some movement. The other wired stuff is to move it out of the way to get light in to the top. I'm reluctant to cut too much off at the moment. Thinking of repotting into a better grow pot and better soil on Saturday/Sunday
Now stands at 255-260mm

Tried to sort out the roots on this this arvo. Far out, what a nightmare it was. Was a pot ful of roots all twisted and knotted. vey little soil left!!
Got the down, got rid of alot. cut some of the top too. Put into a cut down 200mm pot in my diatomite mix.
A pic or two tomorrow

Pic of it the pot it will be living in for a while. cut down 200mm to give it some room to stretch its legs.
Cut a few unnecessary stuff off. Still haven't cut of some stuff that will prob go.
Apart from the trunk, the wiring is still on to get light to the top

I think this thing will die. Again I think I went too hard on the roots. I am still holding out slight hope, but not much

Oh Damn it Nathan , I was watching this with interest as I liked what you had done with it to date, and because I am interested in the species.

Re: [NathanM] Chaemaecyparis pisifera boulevard
Hi Dario I am a bit disappointed also mate. Because it had some good character, and I was interested in playing with a new species!!
I think I may have just gone too hard on it. It had ALOT of roots and was really badly root bound. I think I just cut too much off. In hindsight, maybe I should have removed more foliage to try and balance it out....
The Japoticaba isn't so healthy either, but at least it's no dead!! Again I think I went to hard on the roots. But hey, it had to happen if there was to be any chance of something presentable within the time frame
The fig is going very well though, yes. As I expected I should have stuck to my original plan of 2 figs and a swampy hahaha.
