Not much progress. I just trunk chopped it to the first branch and left some sacrifice branches at the bottom, after removing some of the extra shoots that were creating reverse tapper. Hope some growth will occur during summer.
This has started to look like caliandra to me.

My first intention was to thicken the trunk. But there has not been much progress. Decided to transplant it into a training pot so at least I can start developing some branches. The internodes are just too large now.
Before

There was a large portion of the trunk under ground.

This plant is worth thn acer...internodes are never less than 5cm, and it needs to be cut back almost to 0 all the time. Lets hope something will come out of it eventually.

Not much progress. Internodes are so long that when shortened nothing is left.

This is albisia (calliandra) a tree that has become naturalized here.
It has beautiful white flowers called powder puff. Due to the nature of the flowers this tree is better styled in dome like crown.
The tree has very long internodes and branches need to be grown in acer like fashion.Grow and cut back to 1 internode.
It is a easy tree to look after, and it is tropical in nature.
The tree was wired, trunk chopped, repotted and I am happy with the development.
Future:
Wounds need to be healed , trunk somewhat fattened, and branch structure developed. Ramification is non existent at the moment.
