Final submission,
001.jpg
I displayed this tree in the BSV show on Oct 6th, (mainly for the benefit of forum members) who might like to see it in the bark.
This lead to another forum member making some enquiries and purchasing the tree this week.
I am unsure if it matters as far as the competition is concerned, but 2 weeks prior to the end the tree is no longer in my posession.

Regardless of any decisions I am delighted with what I have achieved and learned. There is wisdom in the phrase "look for the smallest tree within"

G'day Gerard,

Great tree and great progression!
The competition rules state;
Final submissions must contain at least two photographs, one with a plain background and one with a ruler to verify the finished size of the tree is under 250mm tall. You may submit as many photographs as you like from as many angles as you like.
If you can track down the tree, can you please update with a second picture including a ruler?

Regards,
Steven

Agreeing with Steven:great tree! I'm only having trouble seeing it properly, as the photo is underexposed. I yielded to the temptation of brightening it on Picasa and posting it here, but then I realised that I was probably breaking some rules (while offending you?), so I removed it. In case the simple improvement is allowed and you might care to have it posted here, just let me know. It makes no end of a difference, showing the detail so much better!

I am not likely to have an opportunity to photograph this tree again.
As entries are required at 3 monthly intervals, I would hope that this photo indicating a height of 18cm with 6 weeks remaining (Aug 16) is a fair indication that the tree is less than 25cm in height.
I will be OK with whatever the judges decide.

Hi all
Thanks first of all for Gerard's permission to take to next level . This is a beautiful tree and excited to be able to work on it . As you can see tree has refined nicely and leaf size reduced . Up and coming I plan on thickening the main branches and trunk . Give the roots a good work over this winter .
Also refine the branches even further and thicken up the pads .
Also wire and bend the top down even more .
