That is awesome. I geuss it comes with expirience but I struggle to see the end product sometimes. I look at some of the trees people start with and wonder where they are going to go with it. I love where this has ended up, the slab is great.

Hi kidsandall . experience shows as experience grows . An old phrase , "The more i learn the less i think i know" aptly applies to Bonsai , as it is living art , forever changing .Its a bit like the human mind , clarity one day , confusion the next . Some of my first tree's still haven't progressed to well , some are now garden tree's others departed for various reasons , mate i'm still learning and that's the challenge .

Cheers Alpineart

Thanks Alpineart, that's very true. It's like life in general. I guess the big thing is stop looking at what's in front of you and look at what could be in front of you. We bought a house a number of years ago, the owners sold it mainly cause of the layout and lounge room being to small. We walked in, took one look and thought, Yep, pull that wall out, move that door, put a bigger window in there and it changed the whole feel of the house. The previous owners had never considered removing the wall, they just couldn't see it. I just need to apply that fore sight to the art form.

Hi Craig , its coming along nicely , the next update should show some more refinement .

Hi Brad75 , competition rules need to be adhered to , this must be under 250mm in height in order to qualify . Basic comments on works i believe is exceptable but suggesting changes or styling can disqualify any entrant . Please be aware of the rules if commenting on all competition entrants .

Cheers Guys Alpine

Hi Alpine

Lovely progression of this / these trees. It is really good to see how more experienced bonsaiists approach this sort of semi advanced project and the thoughts that surround the progression and development. Seeing what has been done by others on the forum has definitely encouraged me to go beyond my comfort levels with trees, even more than attending my local club (I still LOVE our meetings though!! :tu: )

Great example for others to see and try!

Cheers

Coming along really well Alpine. It looks a treat on the slab. Just keep it alive and you could be on a winner. :tu: :hooray:

Once again you've inspired me with your great vision alpine. I have an elm I dug that is the same "blob" with many shoots as this and a flat rock I had no idea what to do with. I know what I'm doing this spring.

Not much to update on this clump ,
SANY0202.JPG
SANY0204.JPG
it need a little care after the heavy rains eroded the perimeter away in places and adjusting the main trunks again .It will remain wired for now then be stripped depending on how the trunks hold .The moss has began to leach its way down onto the rock . I'm happy with it .

Cheers Alpineart
