[Neli] Pomegranate nana

Post by Neli »

• Species name Pomegranate nana
• Original height of stock 60cm
• Where you obtained it from Dug a big clamp from the garden and removed this two trunks
• Cost of stock= free grown by me from cutting
I trimmed it after planting to reduce the foliage mass in order not to overburden the few roots it has. I dug it out two weeks ago.

The left branch is almost dead but has shot up near the base, the right one is dry. So not much to update...but there is a nice long branch that shot from the left trunk.

I chopped the dead branch. Some growth emerged from near the bottom. It seems even the left branch is dead up to that small shoot, so I shall have to develop the tree from that small shoot.

I am not sure If the branch died, from the transplant, or it was dead already. I left a portion of the second trunk bellow ground. Hopefully not all is lost.
The other branch gas grown well but has die back above the shoot too. Is it me that did something wrong, or it was dead already?

It has grown very well. There is a large portion of the trunk under the soil, since trunks are planted at an angle, so not all hope is lost of it shooting from the other trunk...I only chopped the dead part so far.
The remaining growth I have left unrestrained for now since I want to thicken the leader and the branches have not yet hardened for me to wire anything. When they are too young they are like lettuce and break if you try to bend them...so I shall wait for them to become a bit harder.

Not much to talk about here also...very slow development.
Basically wired and trimmed lightly.
