Such a nice looking tree.
I have one that I have very similar plans for, but my 1st branch is too long & has no taper. Is it likely to bud further down the trunk?

There really is something delightful about this tree, Watto.
It's almost like it's standing with its hand on it's hip, smiling at you!

I gave this a re-pot in the early part of March and at the same time I decided to turn the pot around. While I really like the original side this side has a slightly more "quiet" feel to it and I think it is more in keeping with this tree. Had a good trim and now I just wait until winter is past before any more work gets done.

Cute little tree. Nice roots and aged look to it.

This tree is looking great at the moment I must say.
Even in the photo it has great depth with those slightly front and rear branches.
I agree the new side of the pot is better for this one mate, let me know if you ever want to get rid of the pair
Cheers,
Pearcy.

What a great progression from go to whoa. I agree with the changing sides of the pot, it's a lovely little tree, and stands on its own extremely well! Love it!

I was mucking around with this tree a couple of weeks ago and took this photo, so I thought I would share.
One of the great things about contests is that they make you work hard at your bonsai, which is a good thing.

This thread is bl@@dy unbelievable. I have just learnt so much in 10 minutes .... this is a staggeringly good progression IMO! Wow!
I love this little tree and all achieved in what .... 7-8 years. Excellent stuff Watto and and great learning for newer folk like me.
Cheers for the update because I had not seen this thread.

Thanks for the comments gents.
The pot is by Penny Davis of Mudlark Pottery and I have a few of her terrific creations.
Max, as you can see in the whole post I have been working on improving my photography and it is slowly improving I think, thanks for the encouragement.
