Not much to report on this one either. Now the weather is warming up it will start growing again and I can work on the apex and foliage pads.

It's in need of a trim and a repot soon. I'll check if I have a better pot for it or maybe just put it back into this setting.
I'm happy that the wire has been off for some time and all branches have set in position.

I'm considering chopping off the bottom left branch. What do you think?

Hi Steven, I don't like the left branch as is and I'm not keen on the vert as it makes it look too tall and bare. I think I would wait a bit, defoliate and look at the structure. :imo:

The movement in the left branch is in contravention to the rest of the tree, however removing it (as shown in the virt) seems to leave a visual hole!

Would work with a bit of tweaking of the next lowest branch that is left to fill that space.

All that might make no sense to all of you but it makes sense to me :)

Overall, a lovely little composition though!

Remove the left branch but tilt to the left at the next repot

If you haven't already chopped.

Defoliate if possible and show again please.

Lovely tree & composition Steven. The only uncomfortable feeling about the left branch is the negative space above it, which helps to make it 'appear' to be the only branch leaving the trunk at horizontal, then dipping. Your 1Oct14 post shows all branches consistently wired like this, so whilst it's movement feels out of place, it's actually not.
With the negative space on the right of the composition it feels like the apex should lean towards it...and it does. With the RHS negative space, RH apex, RH strong root & fairly straight trunk, I think it needs a first left branch to balance it...just without space above 1st branch, like the prior post.
You could recompose the tree to the RHS of the tray & move trunk & apex to the left, but I like the strong first root & apex both leaning towards the negative space.
I'd keep the first left branch (& current composition) and fill in the space above it. Good luck.
Brett

Haven't decided if I'll chop off the first left branch. I'll look into it when I repot in a couple of months.
