This tree has settled into its new pot since early September and has been pushing new growth regularly .I really like the pot tree combo but after this comp, I may put it back into a 'pond' pot and let it run to thicken the branches up a bit . I am tempted to leave it till after leaf drop so I can see it in autumn color . Stands about 12 cm

It's a little bit leggy and it still needs to thicken the branches . But the Autumn colors are glorious .

Wow, spectacular colour, and I agree that the tree/pot combo is great (good pot for shohin).

Lovely little tree and interesting to note the difference in response between the one inside and the one left out

Few of my trees coloured better than usual this year too?
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

I’ve started to repot . This one was put into a nursery flat last year and left to grow . It grew . I cut the branches in autumn to store for winter . Anyway today .

Hi Kirky . Basically in the nursery flats I use old ‘cleaned up ‘ bonsai mix . Pumice ,diatomite ,zeolite and gravel I add some bark chips . It’s very coarse , over summer they sit on gravel beds and the roots are allowed to escape into it . They are mulched heavily .
It’s kind of like sieve growing ,
