Re: [CraigM] Buxus Bodinieri
Update - pruned the tree back 19th June, have pulled down the outer branches with wire. Only managed to snap one branch off when wiring, branches quite brittle. Current result ok, think I had grander visions in my mind, time will tell.
Just noticed this evening when taking the picture that the apex has dried out, not sure when that happened, will need to regrow. Tree has started pushing couple new buds, will repot once it picks up some vigour.

Hi CraigM,
That is some very clean wiring and definitely a step forward from your original post. I like your multi trunk idea and look forward to watching it develop. Nice job.

Decided to repot couple weeks back, must have removed around 70% of the roots to fit the container, was a little concerned at the time. The original black plastic container was packed with fibrous roots. Soaked the tree in Seasol for a day afterwards, tree is in a sheltered position over a tray of water. Looks like it's going to be ok, now to continue working on ramification.

Removed the wire, applied ties to hold trunks in place. Think this will look ok in 10 years

Re: [CraigM] Buxus Bodinieri
Final post... end result 24cm. Tree has been slow to develop, will be interesting to see how this one develops with time. Will look to extend the growth to the sides and open up the trunks a little more with time.

Re: [CraigM] Buxus Bodinieri
It's starting to look like a starter bonsai now. Just remember, a year and a half is only the blink of an eye in the life of a bonsai.
