Looks like I'm going to have a play as well.
Contestant No. 1:

Species Name: Serissa Japonica (/Foetida)

Current height: 200mm

Source: The Big Flower (Ourimbah)

Cost: $8-9 (I will have to double check)

I had previously lopped the top off and used a tooth brush to remove all that black crap. If that is deemed too much work, let me know and I will bow this one out and grab another one.

Thats a shame mate.

For a comp I would recommend trying your hand at a genus that you have more experience with.
But good on you for giving it a go. :beer:

Bummer Jarad,
I see leaves around the base, does that mean only the top died?

The leaves around the bases are from a sucker below the soil. 95% of the tree was dead including the roots, I had a real good dig around before declaring it deceased.

It's a learning experience, my trees were well watered throughout winter. I would put my money on the hard cut-back being the cause. I'll update the wiki as I do more with the species.
