Purchased from a little roadside nursery on Foxalls Rd Kellyville ( no idea of the name)
Cost $20 on special- Cash sale no reciept :-( (others had the price on the pot)
Size 350mm

Single trunk specimen about 50- 600 diameter.

Lots of options and decisions to be made with this one. The nebari willbe exposed to see ehat we have ant that will dictate the front and back (maybe)

How do you think you will go developing this one in 18 months Ken? From my limited experience they are a slow grower so I'm presuming you're going to try use the existing foliage?

Cheers,
Pearcy.

Yes correct. If I can use it in the design, then I will do so rather than regrow it all.
Like many tress In these in the comps, I hope to build the best tree I can in the time allotted, but also build the bones of a great tre for the future comps as well

Cleaned up and repotted last night. Determined the direction to take from the many possibilities and could noto use much of the foliage ;-(
Will just have to grow again from scratch and see how well it develops :tu:

Looks like it's got some nice healthy roots. Hopefully it can shoot out some foliage sooner rather than later. Are you hoping for buds on the rear stub?

Cheers,
Pearcy.

Yep some buds and shoots on both the lower branch and stub will be nice if i get them, but there is oen small bud there as a safety :tu:
Very healthy in the pot which is very nice so cut the roots back hard so thta next year I can get it into a small pot,a nd b to give room to grow unhindered thru the summer

been growing quite nicely with new shoots scattered around it.

Decided a definite direction to be almost a windswept as having the movement in the upper trunk like that lend itself to it.
Thus i removed the right branch stub as no shoot along it showed but got some to the rear which i can use.

Trimmed, wired fertilised and back on the bench

The poor thing has been hit hard by the heat just after cutting back real hard in Spring.
Just now coming good again and shooting well.

going to be hard to do well in this comp, but the next one might have a chance

Ever so slowly throwing new shoots.
Cut back all the tips today and they got trimmed back to try and generate some ramification.

This has had very poor growth and is only now starting to kick along.
It might be OK by the next compt though
