[jezz_39] Kunzea Ericoides 'Snowman'

Species: Kunzea Ericoides 'Snowman'
Height: 250mm
Source: Gerry's Nursery and Aquarium, Monto, QLD.
Cost: $13

Not sure how much girth I will be able to add to the trunk, a dwarf variety that reaches 50cm tall :lost: I like the form and maybe a small pot will make it appear larger. In any case, I've been wanting to try more natives lately.

I was going to pull this tree from the comp, but may as well persevere. Nothing ventured, nothing gained :palm: Snipped off all branches that died over Winter and reduced one trunk, could go further but its not very strong. Will see what happens over the next few months. It has a small ounce of potential but it hasn't grown since I bought it

Have you pulled it form the pot to see what the roots are like?
it might be very bad state ( if so slip into some better mix) or very potbound in which case maybe a light root trim?

Forgot to add that my Kunzea here are growing well and have not stopped all winter

Have thought about it, Ken. Thanks for the tip. I will give it a few weeks and see if it starts to grow before making a call. Its definitely not root bound but could have been up-potted too far at the nursery.

HI Jeremy ,Don't give up on the little one. As Ken says very rarely do they stop ,if not the roots. Is it getting plenty of sun ? Cheers John.

This started to get a move along after the last post, didn't grow too much though. I will have to repot into my mix and see if it kicks along a bit harder.

It would receive roughly 7-8 hours of sun, all other plants are thriving. It is a dwarf variety though..
