[Delisea] Tibouchina

This one It appears to be a semi-prostrate variety, it is only about 20 cm high but is about 1 metre long over the fence. I have never seen one of these as bonsai, there might be a reason for this.

• Where you obtained it from: a garden plant

This is growing in clay so I replaced some with an open bonsai soil. This should reduce stress when I dig it. As an experiment I wired in a small curve on a branch. The wire bit in very quickly. Lots of new shoots have just appeared.

I am still waiting for some root growth before this is dug up. It will only be then that the potential of this will be evident.
