Did it snow today?

Australian conditions vary from one extreme to another. What do you do and when do you do it?

Did it snow today?

Post by kcpoole »

Looks like it, but it was a Hailstorm here this afternoon. Luckily they were only small so no damage I think, but great fun :-)

Enjoy

Wow, looks great! Surely not too good to be on the Bonsai though? I mean... won't that melt REALLY cold water all over their precious little roots??

Wash it off if you can a bit like frost. It should be OK though says he from where it is nice and sunny and 25.

I was but have not long got home :-)

Hey japh they will be OK

will not get the soil cold enough to to freeze the roots. Most damage from hail is with it knocking the branches off. I have a big bare spot where hail ripped off a branch from one of my JBP a few years ago

Ken the biggest problem with small hail. Is you do not see the damage till the new buds that were emerging open up damaged. The same as frost.
So let us hope you escaped that one. :)

It is freaky KC. We had similar a few years ago around Christmas and I have pictures very similar to yours but with the garden Christmas decorations in them. A white christmas in Australia
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.
