Friend or foe?

I’ve seen a few of these around the garden. They seem to appear where near minor leaf damage, and I assume they’re foe rather than friend. I generally leave them alone, or flick them away.
Despite a thorough Google, I can’t figure out what they are. Any ideas?
The last picture shows the underside of an affected leaf, with what I assume are progeny.

Actually, the first several photos seem to be of the leaf underside. Serves me right for using the phone app, I guess?

Looks to me like two different bugs . The ‘ underside ‘ leaf photo looks like thrips . The other image kind of looks like a type of wooly leaf hopper .

Agree with Sno, that these are different and the 'underside' leaf photo probably shows thrips. A zoomed in image may help with ID further.

The other image is a nymph of the green planthopper

Much appreciated!

Unfortunately any image zoom is limited to what my phone can manage. Who knows - perhaps I've been good enough this year to score a late December upgrade.
