Fig leave feast

Hi all

A black caterpillar bugs is feasting on one of my figs.

Does anyone know what this may be and what needs to be done to get rid of them. Many thanks in advance.

Not sure what they are. But I would pick them off and squish then. Sometimes they hide under the leaves as well.

They are larvae of the beetle Poneridia semipullata.
