So, have people ever actually had any bonsai's stolen?
I would hope not, I keep some 'works in progress' (unidentifiable as bonsai to the untrained eye :D ) in my front yard. :?

I had a mate in Bundy who had several of his favorite trees stolen , he eventually found the culprits got back one tree but the rest probably got thrown out which is the sadist thing.
I have also caught a young bloke in the act when I lived in Brisbane jumping the fence and lifting one of my trees, lets just say afterwards he had to go home to change his underwear.

There are some sites that have dedicated threads to stolen trees unfortunately. Yes I have been the victim as a few of my freinds have.

I think mine might be classed as the worst. As it was done at a convention held in Fremantle in 2001. There were some other people who had trees stolen. Mostly shohin and Mame.
Although I had some stolen from my previous address, but they were just stock Japanese Maples :!: . Hard to prove but I think it was our Daughters boyfreind thought they were Mary juanana. Yes he was that stupid.
If he had gone round the back of my workshop he would have found it

Cheers ;) Pup

Sorry about the trees but that story was damn funny.
This guy would have had to be a complete moron for you to suspect that. I can imagine him picking the fresh buds in early spring, sitting back watching them dry, chopping them up and...
...which makes me think - I wonder how it smokes!? :?
