A sound and well explained answer Andrew - no more questions from me - now where is that ant dust.Good luck ... in the end it is your decision and balancing all the advice can sometimes create more questions than answers!

Get the little bastards!! I use 'Fix Ant' Granular for the control of ants. It is often not easy to find but you want to look for the active constituent CHLORPHYRIFOS. I sprinkle it on the soil and water it in. Ants GONE. No Probs!!! I have had two trees with major ant infestations and this stuff cleared them out overnight. And the trees never showed any signs of stress.
