Re: Bonsai at the Bay
Hi Matt
In regards to the slabs they were a bit green when I put them in, I have braced thew underside to counter act the warping but in general especially in indoor use the more seasoned the slabs are the less likely they are to warp. I may (probably will) get some splitting and warping, but will try and add as much oil to the grain to keep moist and resilient. I guess only time will tell
chat soon

Re: Bonsai at the Bay
Hi all
Just thought you may like to see the finished nuresery after the rebuild. All benches are nearly complete and the stock is starting to fill the spaces again. Hope you enjoy the photos, also a free bonsai exhibition next weekend for the See Change Festival will be hosted at Bonsai at the Bay. This is an annual arts festival highlighting local art in the Jervis Bay region. All venues are free, free, free. Just google See Change Festival Huskisson.

Much nicer than a lot of peoples own display areas, and some very nice stock you have there.
Nice

Bonsai Demonstration for the See Change Festival
Over the long weekend we hosted an event for the See Change Festival which was a garden luncheon and a small bonsai demonstration. Here are a few pictures from the day. I hope everyone that attended had a nice day. Cheers Mase

The weather just held out for us. About an hour after the demo it rained and rained, much like what you Sydney folk received.

Gidday all
We had a little dig in a little paddock of olives, thought you may like to see a few of the pictures, I will keep you all updated on how they go. Man this was a BIG job, but lots of fun.

Re: Bonsai at the Bay
A couple more olive dig pictures, also a big thank you to Charlie on the digger and Steve (ausbonsai member) on the saws and Dad (Blair) on chainsaw sharpening duties.
About 68 trees came up in the first day, we managed to pot them up in 3 days, had to sharpen chainsaw about 40 times.
Enjoy

Looking good Mase.
There is a some size and potential in those olives. Look forward to some piccies when they break bud.

Hey Mason of course I remember you, all still up and running, originally thinking of shutting up shop 3 years ago, but now steaming ahead, I can't not do bonsai, it is in the blood as we all know.
