Post by peterk1278 »

I have looked around and I can not seem to find any places that sell prebonsai pines in Melbourne?

What do you mean by Pre-bonsai? Like seedlings that have never been worked, or 5 year old rough stock with a few bends in it?

I’ve bought some from Bonsai Sensation, which I think is quite reasonably priced. Alternatively Baloc Bonsai might have what you’re looking for.

Yep, Tien at Bonsai Sensation (Narre Warren) or Trevor at Bonsai Art(Heatherton). Baloc Bonsai(Ardeer) and Jeff at Chojo (Sassafras) are other good options. Basically depends on where you live and or how far you want to travel. 👍

Another vote for Bonsai Sensation here. I was there today, Tien’s got a bench full of rough stock Pines (black/ white and Yatsubusa black) all would be what you’re after

Ditto what Tim said in relation to Bonsai Sensation. Also there today. Can’t say I looked too hard at the junipers but absolutely plenty to choose from in the pine section. Plenty!

Very thin on the ground for Shimpaku from what saw, some needle junipers around though, but i'm not a juniper guy so i wasn't looking particularly closely for those
