What's the name of the Bonsai Club / Association down Wollongong way?

Post by Kevin »

Hello all,

I am thinking of reaching out to a few of the Bonsai Clubs / Associations close to me.

However, I'm struggling to remember or locate the details of the particular name of the society down Wollongong way. I know it's not Illawarra (they are too far from me). My memory recalls a name which i think has aboriginal significance.

If anyone can supply their names and / or their details i would be very grateful.

Thank-you,

Kevin

Sorry,

I think I've found it - Urimbirra Bonsai Society.

But i still can't find their contact details or anything other than an Instagram page (that appears unhelpful, but lots of pictures) or several posts here also with minimum details. I don't do Facebook. So it looks like I'm stuck again.

If anyone has details of their website (which I can't find) or contact details I'd be thankful.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Found a flyer for their Oct 22 show on the face book page for you.
Urimbirra Bonsai Society
Phone number 02 42975553 or 02 42833300
show was at Heininger Hall Ribbonwood Centre, Dapto.
Not sure if that is the one you are after?
I think reaching out for some help from a club near you is an excellent idea. Good luck with your figs :fc:
Cheers
Kirky

Thank-you Kirky and Peter for responding.

Peter, I noticed from a previous post that you and a few others had an association with the club, I didn't want to blindly send communication. Is it okay to contact you via PM within the next few days. At present my thought processes are all over the place, I need a little time to think more clearly.

Besides being close to me, I believe the true Illawarra region (your area) is the Australian capital for the Ficus sp. There's some great examples of very old and indigenous fig trees in your area.

Thanks again Kirky and Peter,

Kevin
