BONSAI HORIZONS III 21-22 MARCH 2020

Hello All,
Bonsai Horizons III is almost here. It will be a Fun, Jam Packed and Terrific Value weekend for all Bonsai enthusiasts.
Everything from Trees, Demonstrations, Workshops, Viewing Stones, Kusimono, making a Diaza, and make your own Pot.

DEMONSTRATORS,

SHANE BOYCE Owner of Bonsai School of Tasmania. Studied under Dorothy Koreshoff, has Nippon Bonsai Accreditation. Bonsai Penjing and Viewing Stones.

SAM THOMPSON Ass. Curator Arboretum Canberra. A young man with a teaching background and trained in Japan, heaps of talent and new ideas.

GLEN BEBB Both Renowned International Demonstrators

SOUTH EAST BONSAI FESTIVAL
Members from SEQ Clubs will demonstrate simultaneously, trees pots anything bonsai related. A fun time with a coordinator moving between each club member giving a commentary.

WORKSHOPS. Various. Delegates of Horizon have free access as observers to all workshops.

BRING YOUR TREES, the Veranda space is available to work on your own trees under the guidance of Sam and Shane whenever they are not engaged with a demonstration or a workshop. No charge

THE BONSAI HORIZONS TROPHY is a new competition for delegates of Bonsai Horizons. The winner judged by delegates will receive $150 prize money.

VENUE. TOP FLOOR CALAMVALE HOTEL. Venue, Food and Accommodation is 4 Star.
Contact Hotel direct if accommodation is required.

A private bar will be open (own cost) will be open during Twilight session.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION $125 CLOSES 31 JANUARY.

Hi Tony,
Yes, I will be putting on my Pottery Teachers Hat again.
The idea of this stage II workshop is to build on the knowledge gained in the first pottery workshops at Horizons I and II
Someone who has had previous experience with clay will also be accepted.
If you are interested, don't delay as I expect the workshop to fill quickly.

I’ll be doing a tutorial on companion plants and kusamono on the Saturday. We’ll look at what they are used for, where to get them, how to make and maintain them.

Hi All,

Less than a week to go before the end of the early bird price for Horizons III
Full week-end registration is $125 for early bird payment before or on 31 January 2020
$140 after 31 January.
You can also choose the single day registration for $75 – anytime up to and including 11 March 2020

This is fantastic value for a packed weekend of Demonstrations Workshops Tutorials and working hands on with Bonsai Experts.

A little more information on the Bonsai Horizons Trophy.
$150 cash prize – a new competition for attendees. To enter you should provide a photo of your bonsai on or before 29 February 2020 for pre-selection. Up to five (5) of the best bonsai will be chosen to be displayed at BH III. If you are successful in pre-selection, you will be asked to bring your tree along. The winner will be selected based on the votes of attendees on the week-end. Each attendee will have one vote for the week-end.
