Thanks for the share. Seems we are lucky here in Aus. You'd think they had the recipe for Coke on display. A "National" show should be about showing their bonsai to the world, not selling books that won't be published for another year or am I missing something?

It certainly has been difficult to find any photos of the trees, that's for sure.

all very nice trees-- tree shown at 19 min mark is powerful but has poor circling surface roots and shows the importance of creating a decent nebari very early on in development

Apparently that's one of Boon's student's trees. He's shared it on his page a few times.

Thanks for the share Mel, much appreciated. I'd be interested to hear what your (or anyone else) favourite tree is and why. Might need to post a screenshot to make ID easy. I'll have a proper look tonight and put mine here. Cheers

This forest was my fave, nice and subtle.

Does the foliage/branches start lower than you'd expect on these two? Is it a good or bad thing?

The canopy is a bit too round for me.. but that bark.

Where's all the swampies?

Cheers

Agree with your choices, from what I can tell. I have to say I'm disappointed that the person who did the 3D took his shots from such a high vantage point. There is no way that I can see of positioning the view where you can look AT the trees, rather than down on them. That makes the distortion very obvious, and the trees look nothing like real life, from what I can tell. In saying that, I'm very aware of the amount of work he's done to get all the shots, and appreciate the fact we can sorta see the trees without having to buy the album.

There is a Brazilian Rain Tree in the mix that caught my eye too. As for the winner, the big penis-shaped juniper.... ugh and double ugh. It's summer over there, so I guess all the trees are carrying massive foliage loads, but still.... ugh

Take my views with a grain of salt, of course, cos I've got absolutely no idea. :D

As far as bonsai related podcasts go, Bonsai Wire is one of the better ones (for me anyway)
Thanks for the link, and the link in your original post too for that matter, much appreciated!
