Hi Craig,
It would be great to be able to make it an annual event, a great chance to pick up something new at a good price.
Regards,
Mike

Re: Yarra Valley Bonsai Society Sale Day
I would like to find out what type of stock people are looking for at these sale days? I was thinking some young starters of unusual or native species, or perhaps some older more mature stock? It will help out the people who are trying to sell by allowing them to bring the stock people want, so speak up, even if you aren't going to make it to this sale.

Re: Yarra Valley Bonsai Society Sale Day
Hey Jarrod,
I'll definitely be there and I'm always looking for some advanced pre-bonsai stock. As long as there's good movement and character in the trunk.
I'm not too worried about the branch structure.
I wouldn't really be looking for starter stock at this sale day.
Cheers,
Scott

Re: Yarra Valley Bonsai Society Sale Day
I will be bringing a range of stock maybe a couple of older trees some pre-bonsai and a bit of starter stock, I have a few plants from a very good form of trident small leaves and short internodes, will have some of them. If we want this to be a annual event then we need good attendance, these sales are probably one of the best ways to get good bonsai material which in my experience almost always comes out of peoples back yards.

Anyone else care to suggest things that they want to buy so those selling know what to bring.

Re: Yarra Valley Bonsai Society Sale Day
If I could be there i would, wish you all the best with it & maybe i will make it one year.
With regards the sort of things I would be looking for, older trees that would benefit from reworking, partially trained and starters of rare & native species...anything that presents a challenge & possibilities

I am going to bring along some young white pines on their own roots these are going to be limited to one per person and will only be available on the day, I only have a few of them and don't part with them easily.

Not going also, but that's what I would be after too.
