Autumn display

Post by Sno »

Rain is forecast for Monday so I took a photo before the weather damages the blooms . These are Japanese Anemones . They haven’t bloomed like this for a long time ,partly because wild deer roam the mountains raiding peoples gardens in the night . A dusting of blood and bone has kept them at bay this year .

Beautiful, Sno!

I've read that blood and bone can repel a number of pesky plant eaters. Glad to know it's worked for you.

Lovely flowers but the Japanese anemones are a bit of a pest down here. They multiply like mad as more grow from the roots as well as seeds. I've been pulling them out of one garden all summer to try to reduce numbers.
Maybe I need some more deer?
