Thanks Luke,

The 45's are for support and strength, not really aesthetics but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

Here's how it is looking as of yesterday;

Looks very smart Steven.....your bonsai will respond accordingly I'm sure!

I've tried to send you a PM a couple of times now, but they don't seem to be going through. Bottom left of my page says Error...not sure if that's indicating the problem. Anything logical I could check?

Cheers, Will

For all those bamboo people, Mix 50/50 linseed oil and turps goes on very easy with a wide brush. The bamboo will look shiny and will be protected for about a year or two before you have to do it again. If you have white bamboo and want to make it a bit darker use a bit of wood stain in the 50/50 mix. :D :D

G'day guys and thanks for the kind words.

The bench has been finished for some time now and the garden has grown around it.
There was a huge F. benjamina growing behind it (in my neighbors yard) that continually dropped leaves, fruit and branches. It shaded the bench and the roots had extended way into my garden and were making their way into the pond.

Well, it had to go so I fired up the Sthil and...

Much more light on my trees and lots less mess dropping :tu:

Did you keep the trunk of the fig tree for bonsai or was it a tad too big? Lovely garden! cheers Ash
