Gotta be the coolest companions I've seen!

Post by Boics »

I've always been interested in the little "gifts" that nature provides on our trees from time to time.
Interesting little plants, moss, flowers, and even mushrooms.

Until a few weeks back I'd never been blessed (or seen) a little mushroom grace my soil.
Since using Diatomite I have noticed a couple popping up from time to time.

However these guys this morning at the base of a Banksia Serrata are by far the coolest I've seen!
So small that they would likely be missed..
Can't say I've ever seen such a thing.

Would look awesome on a mame or Shohin...
Now how the hell would you purposely make these guys happen for a photo shoot!?!?

Cheers!

They grow on rotting wood . I often get them on trees I have carved or trunk chopped and the saw dust is left on the pot it rots and mushrooms grow. All this rain will help also : don't see them much when weather is hot and dry

They look epic as well BB.

I'd love to see a size comparison..

I haven't had any cool little mushrooms grow, but I did find a lizard in one of my pots yesterday. Black plastic pot with deep sides, and mostly empty because it has a cutting in it. Poor little guy was stuck. He's free now running around the back yard again. But not before my daughter got a chance to hold him for a minute.
Cheers, Karl
