Japan Teaser......
Hi all,
As some of you know i am currently in Japan. One of the major components of this trip is to continue what i did last time around, that is, visit as many bonsai nurseries as possible.
http://bonsaijapan.wordpress.com/
The above is a link to my blog from my last trip to Japan. This time around i hope to visit a whole lot more nurseries from various parts of Japan. So far i have visited Mr. Hashimoto`s in Hiroshima (pic below) and there are several more i plan to visit in this area alone. There are so many more that i hope to visit along the way aswell such as the bonsai villiage in Takamatsu which is famous for its pine bonsai. Hopefully when i get time i will update the above link with a full range of pics and basic informationabout each nursery.
Below is just a teaser of things to come... keep an eye on the above link as i will update it in the next week or so.

Re: Japan Teaser......
Wow, i just re-read my first post and realised just how dislexic it seems. I guess thats what happens when you post while sick with the flu. I woke up yesterday much better and was able to visit two more nurseries in the Hiroshima area. I saw somw amazing trees including a juniper that has featured heavily at kokufu ten and alos appears on the inside page of Kunio Kobaishi`s new book. The pot buying has started also
I am still batteling with how to resize a batch of photos so i can do a big upload......
Anyway gotta run, another nursery to visit!

Maybe thats why I found it such an easy readWow, i just re-read my first post and realised just how dislexic it seems.
Sounds like a great trip. I will be keeping an eye on your updates.
I noticed some cheap flights to Japan on Jetstart the other day. Sill there. About $800 return departing Sydney with 20kg baggage cheaper even with just carry on luggage
Add another $3000 to that and you could study with a master for 3 months.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Ok, So i worked out how to resize images on the fly so i can upload a few more pics..... Unfortunately, i haven`t yet worked out how i can rotate on the fly so you will all have to crane your necks for a few of the shots. Enjoy.

Gday Jow!
Looks like a great time you're having!
I took the liberty of rotating some of your pics for you, but somehow managed to lose the only one that didn't need rotating. Sorry about that... Please upload the Pine again at your convenience. And of course, keep the the pics and info coming!
Thanks (and sorry again).
Fly.

Sincere apologies.

Re: Japan Teaser......
Thanks Brian, I Just discovered i can rotate aswell! So here are a few more pics.... The first two are red pines from ontop of Misen Mountain in Miajima. It is amazing what a snow load every year will do for naturally styling full sized bonsai!
The rest are just random pics from the 3 gig i took at local Hiroshima nurseries.
Enjoy
