So does it matter whether or not it’s in a bonsai pot at the end? I think I’ve missed the boat on that and no sense risking losing them just to satisfy that...

Yeah there is no issue if you don't want to display it in a bonsai pot. All good.

Only 53 days to go.....

Get your trees last remaining changes done, and remember it will take usually about 2-4 weeks for new shoots to visually appear if you have put off cutting back to encourage new growth.

Have fun guys.

(because of covid, there may be a significant delay in getting your winning pots posted out to you. Some of you may also want postings to be held until its safe to go to a post office) And please understand I will do my very best to ensure your pot is well protected, but if it breaks in transit, I wont be compensating or sending out a replacement pot)

Thanks for the prompt Rory.

I have a River Red Gum group running rampant - I think I will cut it back hard in about two weeks and keep my fingers crossed on regrowth. The Kunzea, Swamp Paper Bark and Moonah groups will be more about shaping and selective pruning I think. Image all good fun. Image

Any chance of an extension ? I am hoping my dog will eat it or a kangaroo , maybe even a deer , just something to make it more natural .

Ha! I was going to say it would be nice to have an extension further into the warmer months so I can maybe put it in a bonsai pot. But none of my trees are very good anyway lol

Beano and Sno - after three years or whatever it’s been you folk want an extension … I know you… you were seated at the back of the class at school and …. “the dog ate my homework” or the “train window opened and my essay blew away”

Yes that’s pretty much it. I was looking at that beautiful claret tops that died and marvelled how much progress they’d got in 3 years while I’ve barely done anything to mine except let them compete with weeds so not surprisingly they’ve not gotten far after their first year of growth…
