I had to remove the wire before it cut in so what better excuse to take a photo and keep my entry "live".
I think these may have straightened up a bit with the wire gone but I will be out with the roll of wire again soon.

Looking good Watto. What did you use to carve the stone?

Standard masonry cutting tool on an angle grinder.

Without using any bad words, these Euc's are a BOTHER to grow. They attract every grub and bug known to man and are in constant need of inspection to ensure something is not infecting them or eating them.
That's a dummy spit without course language. At least with all the rain we have had the moss is a beautiful green.
No one wants to read this all you want to see is the update photo, so here it is and no more whinging. For now!

And people question my diminishing love of Eucs.... You've pretty much summed it up for me. Plus, eventually develop some decent ramification, only to have them die-back after a root prune and you'll experience the full package, hahahah

But having said that, there are definite Eucs which I think are much better than others for bonsai, but overall I'm not as super keen on maintaining them as I used to be. But when I see reasonably good Eucs as bonsai it just reminds us that perhaps others' have a better plan of attack.

Its the challenge of getting the horticulture right one day. Eucs are frustrating, but is what keeps me interested in Bonsai.

Your tree is one of the cases in point Peter. :worship:

In fact, nicholii is probably one of the best candidates for me to continue with atm.
They miraculously nearly always get overlooked by small pests and bugs. Maybe there is something really unappealling in the leaves' oil.
And the small foliage makes it a real bonus for not having to continually pinch to try to reduce the leaf size.

Time for an update photo.
When I said I was going to wire this group again, I told a small porky. But now the comp has been extended I will wire and set the group in better position before the final photo - promise, trust me!

The final photo.
As promised I wired this and before the wire cut in I took the wire off and it appears to have sprung back to where it was. In a previous post I had a dummy spit about this particular species and I haven't changed my mind. This group has grown very slowly and branches that looked OK then die off so that makes it difficult to encourage trunks to thicken. It has been very wet and that has encouraged some adverse lurgies to attack - again!
All in all a difficult journey, BUT the moss is still green.
Rory, thanks for the comp but if you ever run one like this again please remind me to not use gums.
