Re: [NATURAL] Melaleuca Thymifolia - Keep Calm and Ramify
Just a quick update here to document the start of an experiment with a tensioned onion net. With new foliage just starting to sprout, and being too delicate to wire without snapping, I have netted the whole top in order to re-thread some new shoots as they elongate, back in tight.
Completely natural of course!!!!
Trying to achieve that windy “whoosh” effect of a canopy that is almost funnel shaped?
Will see what effect this has in the upcoming October update. Hopefully not too topiary…

I was playing with wire in an attempt to train some roots during a repot today . After seeing this I am going to redo my clumsy attempt of training roots tomorrow . I think I can cast a wide net over the situation . Thanks .

So…. for the past two months this little dwarf has been kept within a tensioned onion net.
I think it is starting to help train the new foliage with the illusion of being wind blown (without me having to fine wire & risking snaps)
This is my 2020 October update. Thank you for viewing.
Disclaimer: No actual dwarfs were harmed during the making of this process.

Thanks for the feedback
In the short running time of this comp, this little tree has been pushed through a lot man handling to try & make look natural!
Keep having fun guys - Happy Easter once again!

Well I can't take all the credit - this pic was my initial inspiration, but with a little imagination I think I’ve definitely improved on the above, simply by choosing to use the colour green.
Keep having fun guys - Happy Easter once again!

Re: [NATURAL] Melaleuca Thymifolia - Keep Calm and Ramify
...so as a pre-finish update, below is a couple of shots of this M.Thymifolia as of last month.
It wont really change too much, but by the end of this month I will
post a few final pics when it pop's a few flowers & to confirm sizes etc.
These last few months I have mainly been retaining shape by minimal pinching of growing tips.
Thanks again to Rory for starting the comp! Look forward to seeing other final entries when available.

Plenty of golf to be had between now and April KC&R… you can improve your handicap, and keep honing that tree at the same time! Nice looking Mel.

It's a beaut, KCAR! I notice it has flowered in April previously, will it also flower in October?
