I have quite a few Grevillias in the ground and they can be very slow growers

Grevillia leaves have always deterred me from attempting to bonsai them. Would love to see how this turns out.

Grafts are almost always low on the trunk and to my knowledge grevilleas are easily grown as cuttings so rarely grafted except to create weeping standards.

I'll be intrigued to see how the large leaves are managed on this one.

Update
ImageImageImage

Its been cut back twice now mainly just out of the top area
Cut back to a new shoot and it’s quite vigorous after the cut
After a cut any that haven’t been cut tend to attempt to become a leader with strong growth
Haven’t had to work the roots yet

I did change the pot
and again there wasn't a great deal of roots so no work was done
just simply working on the initial trunk line

April update
This one grows vigorously after a cut although the new shoot then tend to thicken quite quickly and can become larger in size than the trunk
I haven’t been near the roots as yet
Upon placing it in this pot there weren’t a lot of roots to worry about so im still leaving them alone

October 20 update
They are very to slow thicken trunk wise
I have several Grevillia yard trees in the ground and they also tend to be slow to thicken the trunk
I haven’t looked at the roots of the tree yet but i think i will in the next month and possibly pot it into the final container
Other than that its just grow cut grow cut
The only other consideration is a viewing front which I haven’t finalised yet

I like that pot mate, where's that from? Suits the tree well.
